Now that I have posted the ten things not to expect from a missional church, I must clarify to avoid sounding negative. The Crossing is intended to be a community – a family. Since we ARE the church rather than we GO to church, we have to be a true body of believers. We have to all be willing to participate in the community of Christ and lend a helping hand to our brothers and sisters when they are in need. The Crossing is a safe place where we are family and we feel comfortable going to one another for help and fellowship. We certainly ARE here for personal growth, encouragement, good preaching, moving worship, etc. We just mean to say that this is not all we are. More importanly we are the love of God – the manifestation of the Kingdom of God – through what we do in our family and the community around us. We need to come to worship and see it as base camp for our true mission in the world. There we will be equipped, challenged, uplifted, convicted, loved, and healed. Then, we need to go out and help those who hurt, be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. If that sounds good to you – welcome aboard!
